The results became a full exhibit at the Missouri History Museum. The exhibit then traveled around the state for a year and a half. Join us for an evening of reveling in the beauty of Missouri through the incredible images taken by Toni and Richard.\nRichard Spener and Toni Armstrong are passionate about wild places. They have both held leadership positions in local and national environmental organizations and enjoy traveling to wilderness areas across the United States. As photographers\, they balance each other well. Richard’s images feature more scenery and wildlife\, while Toni provides macro images of flowers and insects. They are based in St. Louis County. Richard’s images have been published in the St. Louis Post Dispatch\, National Wildlife Federation\, Audubon Society of Missouri\, Alaska Wilderness League newsletters\, and the National Sierra Club. DESCRIPTION:River Soundings is a conference for people who live near\, work on\, rely on and love the Missouri River. This annual event includes panel discussions on issues related to big rivers and the Missouri River in particular. Each year speakers and panelists who are experts from around the country gather to share and discuss challenges and success stories. Our goal is to bring together people from up and down the river to look for common goals and active strategies to get there. \nThe 2024 theme is “Big Rivers and Communities” and will be held at Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center on September 4 and 5\, Wednesday and Thursday.
