SUMMARY:Special Handling Seminar for Team Leaders and Clean Up Organizers
DESCRIPTION:Each year Greenway Network\, in conjunction with MO Stream Team\, brings together experts from all areas to talk about how to deal with trash and situations that are outside of the usual straws and water bottles.  This includes things like tanks and barrels that might contain toxic substances\, needles and sharps\, medical waste and things that might require the intervention of law enforcement.  We know these things don’t happen every day\, but we want to make sure that team leaders and project coordinators are prepared for their unlikely occurrence. \nThis year the seminar will take place at the Headquarters of the USFWS’ Big Muddy Wildlife Refuge in Boonville from 9 am until 3 pm.  Lunch will be available.  A donation of $10 is suggested to offset the cost of the meal. \nRegistration for the on-line virtual option will open closer to the event. \nSpace is extremely limited. Register below: \n\n\n\n\nTeam Leader Special Handling Training Session\nTeam Leader Special Handling Training Session\nThis virtual training is for anyone who is planning or pre-scouting for cleanups and works with volunteers cleaning up floodplains\, rivers and streams.  It addresses how to identify\, mark and when and where to report hazards such as barrels\, tanks\, needles and more.  The virtual and in person sessions will start at 9 am on the last Saturday in February and run until approximately 3 pm with a few short breaks.
